5e Biennale de Lubumbashi: Eblouissements from 07/10/17 to 12/11/17 La 5e Biennale de Lubumbashi, Rencontres Picha, « Eblouissements » sinterroge sur notre pouvoir dagir face aux forces visibles et invisibles, symboliques, imaginaires, mentales, personnages ou choses qui gouvernent notre monde. Dans son livre Limpérialisme postcolonial, Joseph Tonda (2015) évoque la violence de limaginaire qui sexerce sur le monde contemporain à travers ce quil nomme des « éblouissements ». Dans leurs multiples acceptions, les « éblouissements » peuvent signifier des émerveillements, des séductions, des fascinations, des aveuglements qui, dans des contextes particuliers, des situations de changements brutaux, de bouleversements et d'expériences de transitions provoquent des visions, des états hallucinatoires, des illusions ayant la particularité dêtre réels pour ceux qui les vivent. |

1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair, New York, USA from 05/05/17 to 05/07/17 ![]() The leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary African art will return to New York for its third edition, from the 5-7th of May 2017, while October 2017 will mark the fifth London edition of the fair. With biannual editions in London and New York, 1:54 is the leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. Drawing reference to the fifty-four countries that constitute the African continent, 1:54 is a sustainable and dynamic platform that is engaged in contemporary dialogue and exchange.
![]() ![]() A solo exhibition of the late Malian photographer, Malick Sidibé, in celebration of his iconic career beginning in 1950s Bamako, Mali, will be jointly presented with 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair and MAGNIN-A, Paris. The Eye of Modern Mali will feature 37 works by the artist, acclaimed for his black and white images chronicling the lives and culture of the Malian capital in the wake of the countrys independence. Among extensive international exhibitions, Sidibés accolades include the Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography in 2003, the Gold Lion at the Venice Biennale in 2007 and the Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography in 2008.

JAPANCONGO, Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, Moscow, Russia from 07/08/11 to 08/20/11 German artist Carsten Höller has created JapanCongo, an exhibition featuring works from the art collection of Jean Pigozzi.
The exhibit brings together the world of African and Japanese art under one roof. Fifteen Congolese artists will be displayed including the talents of Peter Bodo, Chéri Samba, Pathy Tshindele, Jean Depara, Cheik Ledy and Bodys Isek Kingelez. An equal number of Japanese artists will also be displayed with works from Natsumi Nagao, Nobuyoshi Araki, Akihiro Higuchi, Kazuna Taguchi, Kaneuji Teppei, Hiroki Tsukuda and Keiichi Tanaami. JapanCongo was first exhibited in France at Le Magasin in Grenoble. It will travel to Russia at The Garage - Center for Contemporary Culture of Moscow in summer 2011. JAPANCONGO: Carsten Höllerʼs double-take on Jean Pigozziʼs collection, Magasin, Grenoble, France from 02/06/11 to 04/24/11 German artist Carsten Höller has created JapanCongo, an exhibition featuring works from the art collection of Jean Pigozzi.
The exhibit brings together the world of African and Japanese art under one roof. Una nuova storia: dal 19 novembre 2009 al 17 gennaio 2010 il Complesso del Vittoriano ospita per la prima volta nella capitale una grande mostra che vuole far conoscere larte contemporanea africana attraverso 80 opere tra dipinti, sculture, istallazioni, video di 30 artisti di diverse generazioni nati nei Paesi dellAfrica Sub-Sahariana. Lesposizione, a cura di André Magnin, è divisa in due sezioni: La Collezione Pigozzi di Arte Contemporanea Africana presenta le opere di artisti provenienti dalla celebre Collezione di Jean Pigozzi, il più importante collezionista di arte contemporanea africana; la sezione ArtistiAfricani è costituita dalle opere di artisti indicati da diverse Ambasciate di Paesi africani.
